Labour becomes a moral value, if perceived not only as a source of facilities of existence («If whoever wants to work, that does not eat», are the words of apostle Paul from the Second messages to the thessalonianss) but also as a method of forming of human dignity. Professional ethics of puts and works out traditional ethics problems, based on claim of moral value and holiness of professional labour: the problem of moral choice grows into the problem of choice of profession, so-called problem of calling; problem of sense of living by the становит problem of sense of professional activity; a moral debt is examined as a debt professional; moral responsibility is refracted through professional responsibility, professional qualities of personality get a moral estimation.

A word «profession» (lat. «declare the business») means that for everybody labour comes forward as the limited sphere of activity, requiring certain preparation, row of factors, determining the choice of profession: presence of capabilities and individual propensity to the certain type of activity, high payment, prestige of profession, domestic traditions, social environment, — any can become decision, and a concept «calling» is synthetic description, expressing the degree of satisfaction by the business. Max Veber determined calling as

such line-up of thought at which labour becomes an absolute model... Such attitude is not toward labour, however, by property of human nature. It does not can to arise up and as a direct result of high or low payment of labour; a similar orientation can be folded only as a result of the protracted process of education .

Calling simultaneously characterizes the choice of profession from point of its value for a man and sanctifies a choice an orientation on certain the absolute, being out of individual consciousness. In XVI в. but could be only divine trade, in XX в. — common to all mankind humanism values.
